Microsoft has announced important updates regarding the management of unlicensed OneDrive accounts, which have the potential for major implications for organisations with unlicensed accounts.
These changes will affect organisations that have data stored in unlicensed 365 user accounts.
- Starting April 25th, unlicensed accounts will be switched to “read-only” mode, meaning you will only be able to view your files, not make any changes to them.
- On May 16th, these accounts will either be archived (if they are under a retention policy or legal hold), restricting access until further action is taken, or moved to the recycle bin.
We have informed the customers in our database who are affected by this licensing change. However, if you are unsure about the status of your Office 365 account, we recommend contacting us as soon as possible to avoid any disruption to your access or ability to edit your data.
Please get in touch with your account manager by 10th April to ensure we can help you manage your OneDrive accounts.
